PSC, Lalawigan ng Ilocos Sur, lumagda sa MOA sa Batang Pinoy 2022

PORMAL na nilagdaan nina Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman Emanuel “Noli’ Eala at Province of Ilocos Sur Governor Jeremias “Jerry” Singson ang Memorandom of Agreement (MOA) para sa itanghal na Batang Pinoy 2022 Huwebes sa Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, Manila. Ang multi-sports event ay gaganapin sa Ilocos Sur mula December 17 to 22.

“I am very very honored to have Gov. Jerry Singson here with us today. The 2022 Batang Pinoy National Championship is actually going to be the first major PSC-organized competition under my watch and that is why I am very honored to do it in the Province of Ilocos Sur from where the Ealas come from” Wika ni chairman Eala sa kanyang opening message.

“It is our honor and pride to host the Batang Pinoy 2022 and the Province of Ilocos Sur is very excited when I announced that finally we will host the Batang Pinoy. Nagpapasalamat po ako kay Chairman Eala that you accepted and chose us to host the Batang Pinoy 2022. Malaking bagay po ito sa amin because through sports, makikilala na naman po ang Ilocos Sur and hopefully mabubuhay ulit ang aming economy through sports” Sambit ni Gov. Singson.



Present sa ceremonial signing sina PSC Executive Director Atty. Guillermo Iroy jr. Province of Ilocos Sur Executive Assistant Atty. Jannah Singson, Provincial Administrator Marlon Tagorda, Special Assistant to the Governor in Sports Jester Singson at PSC Regional Coordinator Edwin Llanes.

“I am truly proud that the Batang Pinoy National Championship will finally be back and for the Province of Ilocos Sur to host this competition is a big step towards pushing our grassroots program and jumpstarting our grassroots program in the Philippine Sports Commission,” Sabi pa ni Eala.

Ito ang unang pagkakataon na ang Batang Pinoy National Youth Games ay babalik sa aksyon matapos ang COVID-19 pandemic. Magsilbi sa student-athletes at out-of-school youth edad 10-15 years old mula sa 81 lalawigan at 144 lungsod sa boung bansa.

Mayroon 17 sports ang lalaruin. Siyam na sport ang paglalabanan face-to-face kumpetisyon gaya ng archery, athletics, badminton, chess, cycling, table tennis, swimming, weightlifting at obstacle course racing (demonstration sport). Isasagawa sa virtual contest ay walong disciplines gaya ng arnis, dancesport, judo, karate, muay, pencak silat, taekwondo and wushu. May kabouang 1,995 medals – 600 gold, 600 silver at 795 bronzes – ang nakataya sa anim na araw na paligsahan.

Halos 7,000 kalahok na kumakatawan sa athletes, coaches at officials ang inaasahan na makibahagi sa Batang Pinoy 2022 National Championship na nakatkda simula December 17-22,2022.



Ang Batang Pinoy National Youth Games ay isa sa PSC’s centerpiece programs para sa grassroots sports. Simula itatag ito noong 1998, ay nakalikha ng world-class athletes gaya nina Asian Weightlifting Championship bronze medalist Rose Jean Ramos, Southeast Asian Games four-time gold medalist Agatha Wong, national wrestler Jason Baucas, at iba pa.

“I know that it will be a very exciting time for our young athletes and we certainly hope that this will finally give them an opportunity to compete, interact and be part of the community of young athletes that will be part of their holistic development as healthy citizens of this country. On behalf of the PSC, I am very proud and grateful to the Province of Ilocos Sur and we look forward to the start of the competitions in December,” Panapos na salita ni Eala.
