PNP mahigpit na babantayan isyu ng kidnapping, fake news

Nagtatag ang Philippine National Police (PNP) ng dalawang specialized committees para sa anti-kidnapping at anti-fake news.

Ang Joint Anti-Kidnapping Committee (JAKAC) ay nakatutok sa pag-iimbestiga sa mga organisadong kidnap-for-hire operations sa bansa kasunod ng pag-kidnap at pagpatay sa Filipino-Chinese businessman na si Anson Que at sa kaniyang driver na si Armanie Pabillo.

Pangungunahan ni Deputy Chief PNP for Investigation Police Lieutenant General Edgar Alan Okubo ang JAKAC.



Samantala, ang Joint Anti-Fake News Action Committee (JAFNAC) naman ay pamumunuan ni Police Lieutenant General Robert Rodriguez, ang Deputy Chief PNP for Operations.

Ito ay upang tugunan ang maling impormasyon at disinformation na nagbabanta sa public trust at kapayapaan.

“These committees are not just organizational measures— they are proactive responses to modern-day threats. From kidnap-for-hire syndicates to digital disinformation campaigns, the PNP is moving decisively to protect our people,” ayon kay PNP chief Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil.
