Sen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa does not mind going around the country “guerilla style” in order to woo voters to once again place their trust in him in the upcoming midterm election.
“Saan mang sulok ng bansa, pupuntahan kita makuha lang ang matamis mong “Oo.” Laban Pilipinas!,” Dela Rosa said in a Facebook post early this week.
The re-electionist said in many interviews that his team has had to adjust their manner of campaigning due to being seen as the opposition to the current administration, with many local government units turning them away or supporting only silently in fear of reprisal from the administration.
“No plaza? No venue? No host LGU? No problem! Thank you, Rusco and Rusi Motorcycle, homegrown Filipino company based in Dumaguete City,” the Mindanaoan senator said in another post showcasing photos and videos from his visit to the motorcycle company.
Dela Rosa also shared that he has found a renewed appreciation of the more intimate style of campaigning that he has mounted, which he said provides opportunities to engage voters in conversations.
“Ongoing ‘yung ating guerilla warfare type of gaming ‘no? Kahit saan tayo umaabot, kinakausap na lang natin ‘yung mga LGU chiefs at ‘yung mga taong may hawak rin ng mga tao, mga leaders na pwedeng makatulong sa atin,” Dela Rosa said.
“So sige lang, kahit na sabihin nating unconventional itong aking pangangampanya but still, ma-consider din natin na very personal dahil kung sa guerilla warfare, this is hand-to-hand combat, person-to-person campaigning talaga itong ginagawa natin,” the lawmaker added.
Among the areas that the former police chief has recently visited are Dumaguete City, Cebu, and Oriental Mindoro.
