NU giniba ang UST sa UAAP men’s volleyball

GINIBA ng defending champion National Univeristy (NU) ang University of Santo Tomas (UST), ), 16-25, 25-20, 25-21, 29-27, sa the UAAP Season 87 men’s volleyball sa Smart Araneta Coliseum sa Quezon City Linggo.

Pinamunuan ni Leo Aringo Jr. ang opensiba ng Bulldogs sa iniskor na 13 points,kabilang ang four blocks, at seven digs para sa NU na dinugtungan ang kanilang winning streak sa four games, tinapos ang first round sa 6-1 rekord.

Jade Disquitado bumakas ng 12 points at 16 receptions habang si Michaelo Buddin at Peng Taguibolos nagdagdag ng 11 at 10 points, ayon sa pagkakasunod para sa NU, na ang kanilang nag-iisang talo ay nagmula sa kamay ng undefeated Far Eastern University (7-0).

“I’m grateful for my team’s response every time we face challenges. In the first set, we really struggled with our reception, but we stayed patient. It was important for us to build momentum and by the second set, things started to go our way,” Wika ni NU coach Dante Alinsunurin sa media.

Jenngerard Diao nag-ambag ng five points, kabilang ang two blocks at one ace, habang rookie playmaker Jeffe Gallego Jr. nagrehistro ng 21 excellent sets at four points, at epektibong opensa para sa NU.

Ybañez pinamunuan ang UST sa iniskor na 17 points habang si Jay Rack Dela Noche umiskor ng 16 points, lahat mula sa attacks.Jan Julian Macam nagdagdag ng 15 points at trevor Valera bumakas ng 10, kabilang ang six blocks.

UST ay kasapi ang Ateneo de Manila University at De La Salle University sa sa sa third place at sa 4-3.
