Si Sunita Mukhi at ang buhay sa Hollywood

SI Sunita Mukhi ay naging isang full time freelance actor noong 2022 sa mga pelikula, TV, audio at voice para sa video games, at animation sa Hollywood.

Siya at si Zen Dot ay nagwagi ng best performance sa New York Women Film and TV Short Film Festival.

“Frankly, what has given me the confidence, even audacity to prevail, persist in this whimsical industry is my disciplined training and education from St. Scholastica’s College and De La Salle University, specifically the dramatics guild and the permission to be creative in my youth,” wika niya.

Sa pundasyong iyon ay maari siya nasa LA o NY, Atlanta o London. “All my training was in Pilipino, all throughout grade, high school and college. Even as the Associate Dean in De La Salle-College of St. Benilde (at that time), National Artist Nonon Padilla cast me in Macbeth as one of the witches and as the devil in Luminous Mysteries.”

“‘Morning with Marty’ might be significant since it was a Filipino short film I was part of that was produced by St. Benilde and directed by the now deceased Gabby Fernandez. I got gold for my lead performance in the ‘Morning with Marty’ (2018) at the Filipino Arts and Cinema Festival 2022,” dugtong niya.

Naging nominado rin siya bilang best lead performance sa Nevada Women’s Film Festival 2024 para sa Jasmine Flowers. Ang kanyang pelikulang “RSVP” ay nagwagi ng best short film sa 2024 NY International Women’s Festival at siya ay nanalo bilang best performance sa NY Women’s Film and TV short film festival noon 2024.

“2024 was a year of travel, family reunions and a number wins for me creatively. I travelled to New York, Turkey, London, Italy. Short films that I was part of were screened all over the US, and even in Florence, Italy where RSVP got the audience choice award. The same film also got best performance in NYWIFT streaming festival. ‘How I Met Your Masi, a sketch group I was invited to play with, is the reigning champion of Upright Citizens Brigade. But as a creative, the high of recognition for these modest endeavours makes you even more hungry for more work,” sambit pa niya sa kanyang alaala sa nakalipas na 2024.
