Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa on Friday paid his last respects to the two fallen Philippine Air Force officers who died after an FA-50 fighter jet crashed in Bukidnon earlier this week.
Dela Rosa personally expressed his sympathy to the families of Major Jude Salang-Oy and First
Lieutenant April John Dadulla whose remains currently lie in Cagayan de Oro.
In an interview, the former Philippine National Police chief said he decided to visit the wake of the two Air Force officers when he was told that their remains are in Cagayan de Oro.
“Dumiretso na ako dito. Alam mo na, mga kabaro natin ito at ‘yung isa ay PMAer din na kagaya ko and mistah ng son-in-law ko na Air Force Officer din tapos ‘yung isa, si Teniyente Dadulla ay taga-Bukidnon, so ‘yun na. Makiramay lang tayo. Nakikiramay,” Dela Rosa said.
Dela Rosa has long advocated for the full modernization of the Armed Forced of the Philippines by providing them adequate funding.
The AFP Modernization Program includes aviation-engineering equipment, additional aircraft for the military, joint tactical combat vehicles, and radar-basing support systems, among others.
