PLANO ng Philippine Superliga (PSL) na maglunsad ng Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup sa Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority sa November.
Nakatanggap ang PSL ng pahintulot mula sa Inter-Agency Task Force na ituloy ang kanilang tournament sa “bubble” noong October 16.
Sinabi ni Laurel na nakatakda ang beach volleyball competition sa November 26, 27, at 28.
“Subic is pandemic-ready, as they said,” Wika ni Laurel . “Remember it was in Subic where we had beach volleyball in the Southeast Asian Games. So pagdating sa standard we know it is world-class.”
“We are trying to give our teams and the players at least a month to practice and to have some more physical conditioning,” dagdag pa nya. “It will actually be a three-day tournament but we will have to, of course, allocate a few more days for ingress and egress.”
Ang walong franchise ng PSL ay papayagan na maglahok ng dalawang teams sa tournament, Teams mula sa ibang liga- kabilang ang Premier Volleyball League- sinabi ni Laurel na nagpadala na sila ng invitation kina Bernadeth Pons at Sisi Rondina na naglalaro sa Rebisco.
“Si Sisi, si Bernadeth Pons ‘di po ‘yan iba sa PSL, love na love natin ‘yan. And the other beach volleyball players as well. They’re very much welcome,” anya.
Umaasa si Laurel na ang bubble ay magkasya ang 150 katao, mananatili sila sa dalawang hotels sa Subic Bay, na parehong walking distance papunta sa praktis court at playing venue.
