MATI CITY, Davao Oriental — Senator Manny Pacquiao’s 2025 senatorial bid under the “Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas” banner continue to gain traction across Mindanao, as his grassroots-driven campaign centered on countryside and rural development draws overwhelming support from both ordinary citizens and powerhouse political blocs.
In Mati City, Davao Oriental, Pacquiao laid out his legislative agenda, promising free housing for indigent families, aggressive anti-corruption reforms, and the creation of sustainable livelihood opportunities.
“Kung gusto natin ng tunay na pagbabago, kailangan simulan natin sa mga malalayong lugar — sa mga hindi naririnig at nakikita. Hindi pwedeng nasa siyudad lang ang pag-unlad,” Pacquiao said.
Similarly, in Tagum City, Pacquiao engaged with key Mindanaoan leaders, including Davao del Norte Governor Edwin Jubahib, to discuss synergies for regional development.
Grassroots groups and local political leaders have also thrown their weight behind Pacquiao’s campaign in Mindanao Region, signaling widespread organizational support and recognizing Pacquiao’s commitment to amplifying Mindanaoan voices in national policymaking.
At the heart of Pacquiao’s platform is a robust rural development agenda: free housing for the under privilege and victims of calamity and disasters, youth development through sports program , improving farm-to-market infrastructure, expanding healthcare and education access, and stimulating countryside economies.
Pacquiao, who has often cited his own humble beginnings in General Santos City, stressed that national progress hinges on inclusive governance that leaves no community behind.
“Ang pag-angat ng kanayunan ay pag-angat ng buong bansa,” he said.
Pacquiao is emerging a formidable contender in the 2025 midterm elections, particularly in Visayas and Mindanao, where voters and local leaders see in him a true champion of their aspirations.
