In celebration of Earth Day 2025, approximately 500 volunteers participated in a nationwide clean-up drive held in 21 locations across the Philippines including Manila, Cavite, Bulacan, Pampanga, Cebu, and Davao City.

The event was organized by We Are One Shincheonji Volunteers, a volunteer network led by members of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, grounded in the principle of serving through initiatives such as local and international blood donation campaigns, community outreach, disaster response, environmental clean-ups, and educational support.

The clean-up drive in the Philippines is one of the volunteer activities being conducted across 32 countries overseas as part of a globally synchronized campaign led by the group’s Seoul-Gyeonggi Southern Regional Association and Overseas Regional Associations. In total, environmental clean-up efforts are taking place in 55 regions—23 in South Korea and 32 overseas—from April 19 to 28 in celebration of the 55th Earth Day.

In the Philippines, the clean-up drive was held on April 20 which coincides with Easter Sunday, a day symbolizing life and hope for many. The initiative aligned not only with Earth Day but also with the spirit of Easter, inspiring volunteers to take meaningful action for the planet and their communities.

This initiative echoed the national government’s call to local government units (LGUs), civic organizations, and the private sector to join clean-up drives as a key part of advancing environmental protection efforts. The coordinated activities across regions demonstrated the impact of community-led action in addressing ecological challenges.

“Our goal goes beyond this one-day effort. We are committed to long-term engagement in our communities to protect the environment and uplift lives. We call on all citizens, leaders, and organizations to join us in this mission. Every act of service, no matter how small, helps build a better, cleaner, and more united Philippines,” said Louie Desingaño, one of the officials of We Are One Shincheonji Volunteers.
