Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa boosted his re-election bid for the 2025 senatorial elections after gaining support from his colleagues Senator Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri and Senator JV Ejercito.
“Gusto ko pong i-endorso ang Bato ng Senado, none other than my dear friend, my kumpadre. Mabait siya, matulungin at talagang action man. He means what he says. No other than my dear friend, Senator Bato Dela Rosa,” Zubiri, a former Senate president and a fellow Mindanaoan, said in a video message.
Like Zubiri, Ejercito also raised Dela Rosa’s hand— a gesture signaling full support for his reelection bid.
“An endorsement from the truest of friends and riding buddy. Thank you, Sen. JV Ejercito,” Dela Rosa wrote on Facebook, sharing their photo in a recent gathering.
Dela Rosa is running under the banner of PDP-Laban, a political party chaired by former President Rodrigo Duterte.
The former PNP chief-turned-lawmaker vowed to continue being a “fighter” against illegal drugs, criminality, and corruption should he be elected to the Senate in the upcoming 2025 national and local elections.
A former chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Dela Rosa said that he does not want to seek a fresh term in the upper chamber to become a politician, but an individual who will pursue policies that will make the Philippines better and safer.
