One Cebu (1-Cebu) led by Gov. Gwen Garcia threw its full support to the senatorial bid of Camille Villar in the upcoming 2025 midterm polls last Wednesday.
Garcia raised Camille Villar’s hands, indicating the governor’s unwavering support, further boosted by the 31-strong mayors that composed the local One Cebu party, which dominates the political landscape in the province.
“I am grateful, and at the same time, humbled by the support from Gov. Gwen Garcia and the mayors who came all out to welcome us,” said Camille Villar, who vowed to stay true to her commitment to help the province in terms of job creation, women empowerment, financial literacy and support to small and medium-sized enterprises.
Camille Villar barnstormed the vote-rich Cebu last Wednesday, along with her brother, incumbent Senator Mark Villar, while she continued her campaign in the Western Visayas (Region 7).
Region 7 has registered a total of 4,753,563 voters eligible to vote in the upcoming Local and National Elections (NLE), the local Commission on Elections said.
Cebu leads the region with 3,702,363 registered voters and 9,443 clustered precincts.
