NU tinuldukan ang 9-game streak ng FEU sa UAAP men’s volleyball

TINULDUKAN ng National University ang 9-game winning streak ng Far Eastern University,sa 17-25, 25-21, 17-25, 25-14, 15-9 wagi sa UAAP Season 87 men’s volleyball sa Smart Araneta Coliseum sa Quezon City.

Leo Ordiales nagdiliver ng career-high 19 points,14 spikes,three blocks, at two aces, upang iangat ang rekord ng five-peat seeking Bulldogs sa 8-2.

Natamasa ng Tamaraws ang kanilang unang talo sa 10 laban.

“We’re very thankful for our situation that even though we were down a set, we tried to get our game back, showing our patience on the court. Leo’s game came out. It’s good that in the end we were able to control it, we were the ones who dictated the tempo and we got the win,” Wika ni NU coach Dante Alinsunurin sa post-match interview.

Ang Bulldogs ay umangat sa 9-2 sa fifth set sa pagsisikap ni Peng Taguibolos, Obed Mukaba, Michaelo Buddin, skipper Leo Aringo at Ordiales.

“It’s just in our mindset because they haven’t lost yet, they’re the ones with the pressure, we don’t have any, so we just did our best and we just followed the system. Then we just need direction so we can get the win,” Sambit ni Ordiales matapos ang laban na tumagal ng dalawang oras at limang minuto.

Buddin bumakas ng 16 points on 11 attacks, three aces at two blocks,kabilang ang seven digs at seven receptions, habang si Aringo nagdagdag ng 14 points, 20 receptions at five digs.

Taguibolos may 10 points at Mukaba umiskor ng anim,at three blocks.

Susubukan ng NU na pahabain ang kanilang winning streak sa tatlo laban sa Adamson University sa Abril 6, sa Big Dome.

Dryx Saavedra at Mikko Espartero nagtapos ng 20 at 15 points, ayon sa pagkakasunod para sa FEU.
