RiCHARD NAHAHARAP SA DISQUALIFICATION CASE

NAHAHARAP ngayon ang aktor-pulitiko na si Richard Gomez sa Disqualification Case na pinayl ng Palompon Town mayor na si Ramon Onate.

Si Gomez ay reelectionist Leyte (4th District) Rep. Richard Gomez.

Ang actor ay isa sa showbiz personalities na pumasok sa politics.

Una siyang naging mayor ng Ormoc City, bago siya naging representative.

Ngayong 2025 midterm elections, nag-decide ang aktor na muling tumakbo ng another term bilang congressman ng 4th District ng Leyte.

Naghain si Mayor Oñate ng disqualification case kontra sa aktor-pulitiko sa Commission on Elections (Comelec) headquarters, Palacio del Gobernador, Intramuros, Manila dahil sa alegasyon ng spreading misinformation, base sa isang artikulo na lumabas.

Ayon sa Mayor’s legal counsel Emil Maranon, the petition was prompted by Facebook posts on the “DYRG 101.5 FM ‘Blue Radio’” Page on March 6 and March 7. The post reportedly contained accusations against an electoral board member.

“The culpability of Mr. Gomez came in when he propagated the said malicious Facebook post,” ayon sa legal counsel ni Oñate.

May caption pa umanong caption si Gomez na that the town will have a “grave and massive election cheating this coming May.”

Ayon kay Maranon, under Section 261 (z) (11) of the Omnibus Election Code, which stated that spreading false or alarming reports to the general public is an election offense.
