Bouffaut, Marcelo kampeon sa U15 National Age Group Duathlon

DINOMINA ng Brent International School Manila students Alaina Bouffaut at Johan Joey Marcelo ang Under-15 category ng National Age Duathlon sa Ayala-Vermosa Sports Hub sa Imus, Cavite Linggo.

Ang 12-year-old Bouffaut, ay may oras na 41 minutes at 48 seconds sa 3km run-10km bike-1.5km run event, dinaig si Kaia Christiana Gica (42:32) at Naomi Rozeboom (42:44).

Nagwagi rin siya sa aquathlon (400m swim-2.5km run) nakaraang Sabado sa oras na 18 minutes at 17 seconds, nagwagi laban kay Christy Ann Perez (18:35) at Naomi Rozeboom (18:45).

“I feel good. It’s nice to win, this is my first time competing in the U15 category,” Wika ng Grade 7 student na dinomina ang 11-12 category ng dalawang taon.

Binulsa ni Marcelo ang gold medal sa boy’s division sa tiyempong 35:30. . Diego Jose Dimayuga (35:39) inangkin ang silver at David Mora (35:44) binulsa ang bronze.

Samantala,Franklin Yee at Merry Joy Trupa pinagharian ang kanilang kanya-kanyang divisions sa sprint elite category (5km-20km-2.5km) sa kumpetisyon na inorganisa ng Triathlon Philippines (TriPhil) na pinamumunuan ni Tom Carrasco.

Ang 23-year-old Yee, kinatawan nang Asian Orthopedic Triathlon Team, may oras na 57:13 sapat na para manaig kontra Irienold Reig Jr. (57:16) at Patrick Ciron (57:26) sa men’s division.

“I’m glad to finish the race without any injury. I’m always thankful to God for all the blessings,” Tugon ni Yee, na lumaki sa Bogo City, Cebu

Trupa, 22, ang nangibabaw sa women’s division sa 1:05:41. Katrina Salazar (1:05:56) at Rachel Sarah Wei Ying (1:06:57) placed second at third, ayon sa pagkakasunod.

Yee at Trupa ay parehong kwalipikado para sa 2025 World Games na nakatakda simula sa Agosto 7 hanggang 17 sa Chengdu, China.
