UST, Adamson wagi sa UAAP men’s volleyball

WINALIS ng University of Santo Tomas (UST) ang De La Salle University, 25-21, 25-20, 25-16, para masungkit ang kanilang ikalawang dikit na tagumpay sa UAAP Season 87 men’s volleyball tournament sa SM Mall of Asia Arena sa Pasay City.

Umiskor si Paul Colinares 17 points off 11 attacks, five blocks at ace para sa Golden Spikers, na wala pa rin ang serbisyo ni two-time MVP Josh Ybañez dahil sa Grade 2 ankle sprain.

Jayrack Dela Noche nagdagdag ng 12 points habang si JJ Macam may 10 points at 13 excellent receptions para sa UST, na sumanib sa National University at Ateneo de Manila University sa second place sa 2-1.

“The whole team is happy because even though Josh is not in the lineup, we are still intact as a team. So, no matter who we lose from our lineup, no matter who you put in there, we are sure that they will perform because every player is so confident now,” Wika ni Colinares.

Ang panalo ay una ng UST laban sa La Salle simula ang four-set triumph sa second round ng season 85 noong Abril 2, 2023.

“The result speaks for itself when it comes to our depth. Apart from that, it was our preparation as well, so yesterday, they were in a good mood. Until now, they have been able to extend the good vibes on the court and they can play easily,” komento ni UST head coach Odjie Mamon.

Season 86 beach volleyball MVP Alche Gupiteo nadagdag ng seven points habang skipper Dux Yambao naglatag ng 19 excellent sets sa isang oras at 11 minutong aksyon.

Noel Kampton, MJ Fortuna, Emman Fernandez, at Eric Layug nag-ambag ng tig-6 points para sa La Salle.

Sa ibang laro, Nagwagi ang Adamson University laban sa University of the East,, 27-29, 25-23, 25-20, 25-17.

Jude Aguilar umiskor ng 17 points on 14 attacks at three blocks habang si Leo Coguimbal nagdeliver ng 16 points off eight blocks, six attacks, at two aces para sa Falcons.

Huling nagwagi ang Adamson noong Marso 23,2024 sa second round ng Season 86, laban rin sa UE.

Steve Aligayon may 23 points on 20 attacks,two blocks,at one ace at anim na excellent digs,habang si Roy Piojo nagdagdag ng 17 points para sa Red Warriors.
