Legal action vs. fake surveys pinagiisipan ng Asenso Manileño

SERYOSONG pinag-iisipan ngayon ng MANILA’s ruling party na Asenso Manileño ang pagsasampa ng kaso kaugnay ng mga kumakalat na fake surveys pati na ang panggagamit nito sa dalawang city-run universities na Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) at Universidad de Manila (UdM).
Mismong ang student body ng UdM ay nanawagan sa publiko na maging mapagmatyag kontra sa mga kumakalat ng misinformation kasabay ng kanilang pagtanggi na may isinagawang survey sa mga mag-aaral ng pamantasan.
Sinabi ni Atty. Princess Abante, information officer ng Asenso Manileño Movement, na ‘ di nito palalagpasin si Francisco Domagoso pati na ang mga minions nito na salingin ang non-partisan character ng PLM at UdM at ipangalandakan ang fake surveys sa academic communities at sa mga residente ng Maynila.
Ayon pa kay Abante, ang nasabing fake surveys at mga social media posts: “have been referred to our legal team for possible legal action before the Commission on Elections and the MORES (Marketing and Opinion Research Society of the Philippines).”
Pinahayag pa ni Abante na posibleng may paglabag sa Comelec resolutions and rules kaugnay ng paggamit nito sa social media pati na sa MORES Code of Ethics na nilabag ng mga naglipanaang fake surveys sa social media at online.
“Asenso Manileño team is in the best position to recommend the next steps,” saad pa ni Abante.
Samantala, ang Student Supreme Government (SSG) ng UdM na kumakatawan sa lahat ng mag-aaral ng unibersidad ay pormal na itinanggi ang post na umiikot ngayon sa online, kung saan may isang grupo ang gumawa umano ng internal Mayoral Preference 2025 survey sa UDM.
“…upon thorough verification, there is no record of UDM students participating in any such political survey. Additionally, no recognized student organization within the University has endorsed, promoted or advertised any political candidates for the upcoming elections,” ito ang pormal na pahayag ng SSG na ipinost din sa social media matapos na mai-post din ang fake surveys.
“We strongly urge the public to remain vigilant against misinformation that can easily spread online. False or misleading content has the potential to manipulate perceptions, create division, and undermine informed decision-making. As the 2025 elections approaches, we encourage everyone to practice critical thinking and verify sources before believing or sharing Information,” giit ng SSG ng UdM. (ANDI GARCIA)
