Japeth Aguilar umiskapo sa biyahe ng Gilas sa Doha

HINDI kasama si veteran big man Japeth Aguilar kapag lumipad ang pangkat patungong Qatar para sa four-nation 2nd International Friendly Basketball Championship sa Doha na nakatakda simula Pebrero 14 hanggang 16.

Ang friendly tourney ay itatampok ang host nation Qatar, Egypt, Lebanon at ang Pilipinas.

Nilinaw ni Gilas team manager Richard del Rosario na ang 38-year-old Aguilar ay hindi injured.

“No he’s not injured. He just has personal obligations to take care of,” Wika ni del Rosario.

Gayunpaman, ibinahagi ni del Rosario na ang many-time national member ay inaasahan na lalahok sa Gilas sa kanilang two away game laban sa Taiwan at New Zealand sa third at huling window ng FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers.

Barangay Ginebra forward Troy Rosario ang pansamantalang pupuno sa spot ni Aguilar, kasama si Mason Amos sa Doha.

Ang pagsama kay Rosario sa final 12 ay hindi pa tiyak sa ngayon.

Gilas ay pamumunuan pa rin nina naturalized player Justin Brownlee, eight-time PBA Most Valuable Player June Mar Fajardo, Scottie Thompson, CJ Perez, Dwight Ramos, Carl Tamayo, Chris Newsome, Calvin Oftana, Kevin Quiambao, AJ Edu, at Jamie Malonzo.
