SUBUKAN ng University of the East na mapanateli ang kanilang momentum at tuldukan ang kanilang 39 na taong tagtuyot sa titulo kapag nakaharap ang University of Santo Tomas sa winner-take-all Game 3 ng UAAP Season 87 boys basketball finals sa Filoil EcoOil Centre sa Biyernes.

Sa pamumuno ni Mav Mesina, nakabawi ang UE mula sa 84-98 loss sa game 1 at umiskor ng sa 76-70 sa game 2 Linggo.

“That’s the motivation: to bring UE another championship. As I’ve said, never give up, and then we won, so why would we give it away? We have worked hard, in and out of the court, this is it. Why would we give it up, we’re already here in Game 3,” Wika ni UE head coach Andrew Estrella.

Kulang sa UST ang Mythical Five member Andwele Cabañero, na suspendido dahil sa paghampas kay Neil Garcia sa panahon ng loose-ball scuffle sa Game 2.

Sinabi ni coach Noli Mejos na composure at strategy ang importante.

“Losing is really part of the game, but there is a do-or-die game, so the preparations and adjustments are too much, especially in defense,” Wika ni Mejos.

“I will adjust to the change of players and positioning because we have a huge loss — Cabañero. We will win if the defense is good and the plays run well. We must not rush and just be composed,”anya.
