UE nasungkit 3 titulo sa UAAP judo

PINATUNAYAN ng University of the East ang kahusayan sa UAAP Season 87 judo kumpetisyon Linggo nang masungkit ang 3 titulo sa Ninoy Aquino Stadium sa Malate,Manila.

Ang women’s team ay pinamunuan ni MVP Leah Jhane Lopez, nakulekta ang kanyang apat sunod-sunod na titulo sa iniskor na 40 points on four gold,three silver,at three bronze medal.

Ang University of Santo Tomas (UST) ang second na 19 points(one gold, one silver,at nine bronze), sumunod ang La Salle na may 14 points (1-2-1), Ateneo de Manila University na may 12 (1-1-2), at Univerity of the Philippines(UP) na 11 (1-1-1).

“We, at UE, it’s not just a team, it’s like a family. And the culture we have developed in UE is different. The respect and discipline is really there. And also in training, we really have each other’s support system,” Wika ng 24-year-old Lopez ng Pasay City.

Naghari rin ang UE sa high school division, Nakamit ng boy;s team ang kauna-unahang titulo habang ang girl’s squad ay naangkin ang back-to-back titles.

UE at UST ay parehong nakaipon ng 36 points pero ang dati ay nakamit ang boy’s title na one gold (four golds, two silvers, at two bronzes) habang ang huli ay may three golds, three silvers, at six bronzes.

Ang Ateneo ang third na may 12 points (1-1-2) at La Salle-Zobel may 10 (0-2-4).

Sa girls category, UE nakaipon ng 45 points points (5-3-1), sinundan ng UST may 31 (2-4-5) at La Salle-Zobel may 10 (1-1-0).

Samantala, ang UST ay may kabouang 47 points on four golds,five silvers at four bronzes para makamit ang league-best 15 titles sa men’s category.

National team standout Troy Estrella, na nadepensahan ang minus 66kg title, ang tinanghal na MVP.
