Degamo slay suspects ayaw nang kumanta – Remulla

IPINAHAYAG ni Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla na anim sa pitong suspek sa pagpatay kay Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo ay ayaw nang magsalita.

Paglilinaw ni Remulla, sa kahulugan ng ‘lawyered up’ “they were provided with lawyers by some people who are paying for their lawyers who were not there before.”

“And obviously, some people are interested in the statements they want to give and now they don’t want to cooperate anymore with authorities,” sabi ni Remulla.

Nang tanungin kung saan nagmula ang mga abogado, tugon ni Remulla: “There is a conspiracy, and there’s probably people with a lot of money operating within the conspiracy to be able to afford the lawyers they are now getting.”

Ilan, aniya, sa mga suspek ang sumuko sa militar.

Ang mga suspek na sumuko at naaresto matapos ang pag-atake ay nasa kustodiya na ng National Bureau of Investigation para sa ‘debriefing’ at ‘questioning’.

Sinabi ng justice secretary na ang mga suspek “were provided with lawyers from the Public Attorney’s Office, and they gave their statements to the prosecutors, the NBI.”

“Together with that, we also gave them witness protection for their families so that they can be with their families and they will not feel threatened,” aniya.

Aniya, ang pagtangging makipagtulungan ng mga suspek ang dahilan ng pagkaantala ng paghahain ng kaso laban kay suspended Negros Oriental 3rd District Representative Arnolfo Teves, Jr.
