Casimero itinatanggi ang alegasyon na sexual abuse

ITINATANGGI ni World Boxing Organization (WBO) bantamweight king Johnriel Casimero ang paratang na sexual abuse sa babaeng minor kamakailan.
“I vehemently deny any accusations thrown at me regarding a blotter concerning an alleged female minor and vow to clean my name for not only myself and my family, but also my country, the Philippines,” Wika ni Casimero sa pahayag na ipinaskil sa Fightnews.com.
Inakusahan ng 17-year-old na babae ang 33- anyos Casimero na minolestiya siya sa loob ng kanyang hotel room nakaraang taon. At nabalita na ang minor ay nagsampa ng kaso laban kay Casimero para sa Act of Acts of Lasciviousness at Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
“I have been instructed by my legal team to not directly address any news media outlets due to the fact that to date, there have not been any criminal charges brought forth for me or my legal team to respond to,” ayon sa kanyang statement. “But being that my name has been defamed, slandered and surrounded by fabricated stories circulated by journalists and vloggers whose only intention is to destroy my good name as the WBO world champion representing the Philippines, I believe I have the right to state my truth and allow truth to prevail.”
Si Casimero ay kasalukuyang nasa United States, nag te-training para depensahan ang kanyang titulo laban sa dating world champion Paul Butler sa April 22, 2022 sa Liverpool,England.
Si Casimero ay isa sa apat na kasalukuyang world champions ng Pilipinas kasama si World Boxing Council (WBC) bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire Jr. International Boxing Federation (IBF) super flyweight titleholder Jerwin Ancajas at IBF minimumweight titlist Rene Mark Cuarto.
Casimero may ring rekord na 31-4 with 21 knockouts, ay three-division world champion hawak ang titulo sa light flyweight, flyweight at bantamweight division.
