PSC Itutuloy na ang National Sports Summit online

ITUTULOY na rin ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) ang na- postpone na National Sports Summit sa pamamagitan ng three-part program na lingguhang serye ng online conference-type sessions simula Enero 27.
“We wanted to push through with this because we know it will be useful to know where we are now from where we were almost three decades ago. It will help see the road ahead of us and navigate it better,” paliwanag ni PSC Chairman Butch Ramirez.
Tinuran niya ang 1st National Sports Summit noong 1992, kung saan ay 38 resolutions ang naiukit sa layuning mas mahusay na ‘national sports environment’.
Ang 2021 edition, na isang weekly conference-type online session, ay tinaguriang Sports Conversations, na kinapapalooban ng 25 sports topics.
Ibinida pa ni Ramirez na“data gathered from these sessions will be studied and processed, and shall be the foundation of a new set of resolutions hoped to be useful for our future sports leaders, legislators, and national officials who contribute to the betterment of sports in the country.”
Ang pangunahing adhikain ng summit ay naglalayong ma-determina ang kasalukuyang estado ng sports sa Pilipinas. “PSC taps recognized figures from the local to the international sports scene to deliver short lectures in the online conference.”
Ang unang batch ng sesyon ay pangungunahan nina United Sports Academy (USSA) President T.J. Rosandich, Philippine Sports Institute (PSI) Dean of Philippine Sports Henry Daut, DAVNOR Sports Development Head at UP Professor Tessa Jasmines
“We believe that sports are a means to move forward despite taking a step back for months. We may continue to chart our path in bettering Philippine sports starting now, and with the help of these experts in the field to whom we are very grateful,” saad ni Ramirez.
Halos 1000 registrants na binubuo ng sports educators, athletes, coaches, LGU coordinators, national sports associations, and private stakeholders, na ang nagpatala.(Danny Simon)
