BAGAMA’T lubhang apektado ang operations at sales dahil sa pandemic, iningreso pa rin ang total na Php359, 672.07 ng Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) sa Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) na pormal na ipinagkaloob sa PCSO Main Office na nasa Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City kamakailan lang.
Kinatawan ang PSC ni Commissioner Celia Kiram at Cashier Maybelle Panis upang pormal na tanggapin ang tseke mula kay PCSO Charity Assistance Department Officer-in-Charge Jerusa Corpuz sa simpleng seremonya.
Ang ikalimang remittance para sa kasalukuyang taong 2020 ng PCSO ay may suma-total na Php 1,816,527.03.
“PSC is so happy that despite the pandemic, PCSO generously gave their share for the development of sports,” wika ni Commissioner Kiram.
Sinabi naman ni Corpuz: “The PCSO has been at the forefront of the country’s sports development program. In February alone, the PSC received a total of Php1,456,854.96 from PCSO, a month before the COVID-19 lockdown in the country was effected”.
Ito ay regular na remittance ng naturang charity agency na nakapaloob sa Section 26 of R.A. 6847,
“This indicates that thirty percent (30%) representing the charity fund and proceeds of six (6) sweepstakes of lottery draw per annum shall be given to the PSC to help fund the country’s sports development programs,” ani pa Corpuz.(Danny Simon)
