Hamilton Breaks Schumi’s Record

Tulad ng inaasahan ay na-break ni Lewis Hamilton ang record ni Michael Schumacher na 91 grand prix wins. With his victory at the Portuguese Grand Prix – his 92nd career win – noong Linggo, solo na ngayon sa itaas ng all-time win column si Hamilton.

Si Hamilton din ang nakakuha ng pole position to extend his record to 97 pole positions. By the end of this season ay halos sigurado na rin na mapapantayan niya ang record ni Schumacher na seven world drivers’ title.

Hamilton is breaking records these days dahil sa kanyang longevity and consistency. He has been so good for so long. Siya lang ang taning F1 driver na merong naitalang panalo from his rookie season up to the present. That’s 15 straight seasons na meron siyang grand prix win mula noong 2007.

Speaking of longevity and consistency, muling ipinakita ni Tom Brady na hindi pa siya laos sae dad na 43. Brady led his new team Tampa Bay Buccaneers sa 45-20 win over the Las Vegas Raiders noong Linggo.

Brady accounted for four passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown sa kanilang fifth win in their last six games. Marami ang nagsabi na produkto lang daw ng New England Patriots system si Brady kaya nakapaglaro ito sa siyam na Super Bowl games kung six times silang nanalo.

But look at where the Patriots are now. They are 2-4 and just suffered their worst loss in 20 years, a 33-6 beating at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers. It was their third straight defeat.

The Patriots never lost three in a row with Brady as their starting quarterback and the last time na matalo sila ng at least ganoon kalaki was the year before Brady became their starting quarterback.

Mahaba pa ang season pero sa ngayon ay mukhang malinaw na sa lahat na si Brady ang dahilan ng success ng Patriots at hindi ang system na iniimplement ni ng kanilang coach na si Bill Belichick.

At para sa hindi nakakaalam, may losing record si Belichick as head coach bago niya maging starting quarterback si Brady and he never came close to leading his team to Super Bowl.

We are very lucky na hanggang ngayon ay napapanood pa rin natin ang mga modern sports heroes tulad nina LeBron James, Rafael Nadal, Hamilton at Brady. They were dominant sa kanilang respective spots mula simula ng kanilang professional career at hanggang ngayon ay nakikipagsabayan pa rin sila sa mga rising stars sa kanilang propesyon.
