Ilang oras matapos ang panalo ni Hamilton ay kinumpleto ni Rafael Nadal ang isa na namang dominant run sa French Open. Hindi pinaporma ni Nadal ang long-time rival na si Novak Djokovic, 6-0, 6-2, 7-5 to win his 13th French Open title and 20th Grand Slam trophy overall. Tabla na sina Nadal at Roger Federer atop the Grand Slam trophy count with 20 each habang nanatili naman sa 17 si Djokovic.

Tinablahan din ng Los Angeles Lakers ang Boston Celtics as the most successful franchises sa NBA with their 17th title following a 106-93 rout of the Miami Heat sa Game 6 noong Linggo ng gabi (Lunes sa Pilipinas).

Muling pinangunahan ni LeBron James ang Lakers sa itinalang 28 puntos, 14 rebounds at 10 assists para i-extend ang kanyang record na Finals triple-doubles sa 11. Meron na siyang 28 playoff triple-doubles overall, just two behind the record 30 by Magic Johnson.

As expected, LeBron won the Finals MVP for the fourth time. He was the first player in history to win the Finals MVP with three different teams, winning it twice noong nasa Miami Heat siya at winning it when he led the Cleveland Cavaliers from 1-3 down against the Golden State Warriors to win their only NBA title.
