Morales di kasali sa suspension

SINUSPINDE ng Office of Ombudsman ang senior officers ng Philippine Health Insurance (PhilHealth) Corp. ng 6 buwan habang nagpapatuloy ang imbestigasyon sa akusasyon ng korapsyon sa ahensiya.
Nag-isyu ng dalawang magkahiwalay na orders si Ombudsman Samuel Martires para sa suspension ng mga opisyal ng PhilHealth.
Sa isang order, sinuspinde ni Martures ng 6 buwan ang mga sumusunod na opisyal:
Senior Vice President for Management Services Sector Dennis Mas
Vice President for Corporate Affairs Group Shirley Domingo
Senior Vice President for Legal Sector Rodolfo Del Rosario Jr
Senior Vice President for Health Finance Israel Pargas
Roy Ferrer
Celestina Ma. Jude Dela Serna
Ruben John Basa
Raul Dominic Badilla
Angelito Grande
Lawrence Mijares
Leila Tuazon
Sa isa pang order, sinuspinde ni Martires sina Ferrer, Basa, Grande, Eugenio Donatos II, at ang Vice President of Quality Assurance Group na si Clementine Bautista.
Si PhilHealth CEO Ricardo Morales ay hindi kasama sa mga sinuspinde, pero siya’y nauna nang nakapag-file ng medical leave. Sasailalim daw siya sa chemotheraphy sa cancer.
Sa Twitter post, sinabi ng PhilHealth na hindi pa nito natatanggap ang order ng Ombudsman. “As of this time, the concerned officers are not aware of the charges against them.”
Sinabi ng PhiHeath na maglalabas sila ng statement kapag natanggap na nila ang kopya ng suspension orders.
Ang Office of the Ombudsman ay bahagi ng “Task Force PhilHealth” na binuo ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, at pinamumunuan ni Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra.
Pero nilinaw ni Guevarra na ang mga aksyon ng Ombudsman ay “independent” and “taken within the larger framework of Task Force PhilHealth.” (Josephine Patricio)
